The Equalizer could be the next reboot back at CBS. The network is already home to reboots for Hawaii Five-0, Magnum PI, and MacGyver. Could The Equalizer land on the network as well? It is looking like a possibility.
Per Deadline, CBS has given a pilot order to a reboot of The Equalizer. Queen Latifah will star in the new series, if it makes it to the network.
Andrew Marlowe & Terri Miller are behind the series, and Latifah will also serve as executive producer.
Deadline shared the following about the series:
“The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah as an enigmatic figure who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. This is a new take on the character played by Edward Woodward on the original series and by Denzel Washington in the movie franchise.”
The series aired for four seasons on CBS. Washington has appeared in two reboot films in recent years.

Absolutely! I’d watch. Like anything else we get attached to, it’s all about chemistry. Good actors can make bad writing bearable but bad actors just make me squint. If the Equalizer thing does not pan out try Robyn’s Hoods.

i loved Edward Woodward’s version, but I’ll give it a try. It needs personality and cleverness.

Louise, I watched the Woodward series, but really liked Denzel’s 2 shots better. Woodward never seemed plausible when he threatened bigger guys without a gun in his hand.
sorry…thats a big NO from me, tired of the “re-imagined” re-boots already, there terrible,ESPECIALLY when changing genders, for it to be TRUE “inclusion / diversity / woke / etc. ” it CANT go 1 way, if theres a male to female, it MUST go female to male, if white to black ( rarely anything but black,why not an asian equalizer? ) it MUST go black to white, if straight to gay, gay to straight , or it is NOT TRUE diversity/inclusion etc. besides this wont work because its not needed, the denzel movie was pretty good…then came the sequel which… Read more »
I liked both of Denzel’s movies. In my opinion, John Wick 3 was the worse movie ever made!

No,I will Not watch a reboot. Especially with a female. Edward Woodward was an iconic figure & Washington is ok. But not a woman

It needs to be like the original. Enough of the “ex Navy Seal” type shows. The original he had skills, money and connections to get things done. Edward Woodward was smooth, where Denzel was just another action guy. Latifah needs to go the Woodward route.
I’ll definitely give it a try – loved the premise of the original (although no one could top Edward Woodward). If done well like Hawaii 5-0 or Magnum P.I., reboots can be enjoyable.
