Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is still looking for a new home, but the cast has now been released from their contracts. Those contracts expired earlier this year, and they were not renewed due to the NBC cancellation. The musical drama follows Zoey (Jane Levy), a software developer who discovers that she can hear people’s innermost thoughts as songs in her head.
Deadline revealed the following about the possibility of the cancelled NBC series being renewed for a third season on a new outlet:
“Conversations are still ongoing, with various options to continue the story of Zoey Clarke explored — series, miniseries or a movie. While none is believed to be close to reality, if any progresses, Lionsgate would need to make new deals with some or all of the Season 2 regular cast, which included Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Andrew Leeds, Alice Lee, Michael Thomas Grant, Kapil Talwalkar and Mary Steenburgen.”
It is not known where the series would land for a new home – if it does at all.

Zoey is what we all need. Intelligence, emotion, smiles, terrific performances accompanied by music.
It is so unique & fun while wrapped in strife & heartache of life. I don’t care where it ends up as long as it ends up on the air.
I like this show for its pure escapism. Even though subject matter is emotionally driven it gives a positive spin in a negative world.
I keep hoping someone will pick it up.
Yes Zoey needs to return since it is the best show on television and the one that we need right now to help us get through these terrible times.
Hulu should have taken it or if Netflix it would blow up fast. It is an outstanding series that has great actors, singers, dancers, writers, storyline. Yet all the chit shows stay on 18-23 seasons. Writer’s time to get your own streaming platform I’m sure many would advertise with it

I love this show – I wish CW Network would maybe pick it up it’s kinda like Crazy Ex Girlfriend and they had that show on and they don’t really have a show like this now on CW
I really, really hope they find a way to continue this show…there’s nothing really like it to take its place (I’ve seen all of the previous similar shows, I think.)
