Showtime has announced that they’re bringing back Californication for a fourth season of 12 episodes.
In the Californication series, David Duchovny stars as Hank Moody, a writer who tries to balance his career, ex-girlfriend, daughter, and a few personal demons. Others in the show include Natascha McElhone, Madeleine Martin, Madeline Zima, Pamela Adlon, and Evan Handler.
Season three kicked off on September 29th and finds Hank forced to start teaching at a Los Angeles university after the failure of his book. The premiere numbers made Showtime very happy with record-breaking viewership for the series, up 57% from the season two debut.
Season three is expected to finish before the end of the year and the next round will begin airing sometime in 2010.
