Frustrating cliffhangersAs we close out the first ten years of this millennium, it’s amazing how many great TV shows have been cancelled. Big as that list is, there are some that stand out more than others — mostly because they left us hanging. Here’s a list of 10 that deserved at least one more episode to wrap things up.

The 4400 — This show and The Dead Zone ran successfully for many years on USA. The ongoing mysteries of both shows kept viewers coming back for more each week. Unfortunately, the cable channel decided to be done with them in 2007. The shows and their viewers were left with unresolved cliffhangers. Of the the shows, 4400 seems a bit more tragic as it wasn’t on for as many seasons and Dead Zone fans have a freaky Christopher Walken movie.

Walsh (Dharma & Greg), Vince Vieluf (Love, Inc.), Laura Allen (Dirt), Dean Cain (Clubhouse), James Tupper (Men in Trees), and Allison Hossack (Falcon Beach). To start, Julie Benz (Hi Honey, I'm Home!, currently Dexter) has booked a lead role as a special agent in Boondock Saints II: All Saint's Day. Like the original, this one will star TV show veterans like Sean Patrick Flanery (The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles), Billy Connolly (Head of the Class), and Judd Nelson (Suddenly Susan). In the more immediate future, watch for Benz in Saw V and Punisher: War Zone.

Surface

This drama centers on the appearance of mysterious sea creatures in the deep ocean, and the lives of naval officers in the South Antarctic Sea, a family in North Carolina, scientists from the Oceanographic Institute in Monterey, and fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico. The seemingly innocent creatures they find are beautiful but full of surprises. As the story develops, we discover what truly is lurking under the sea.
