LA Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick) and The Closer are saying goodbye and TNT is hoping that viewers will tune in to watch the farewell and bring in big ratings. Others in the large cast include Corey Reynolds, G.W. Bailey, J.K. Simmons, Jon Tenney, Mary McDonnell, Michael Paul Chan, Phillip P. Keene, Raymond Cruz, Robert Gossett, and Tony Denison.
Normally, a TV show’s ratings are the best way to tell if a show like The Closer would be cancelled or renewed for another season. In this case, TNT has already announced that there won’t be an eighth season but they are launching a spin-off. The seventh season of The Closer airs Monday nights.
There are 21 episodes in the season but they’ll be split into three groups during 2011 and 2012.
