Rick Worthy (Star Trek: Enterprise) has picked up a supporting role in Tony Gilroy’s Duplicity movie. The film stars Clive Owen and Julia Roberts as two formerly-involved corporate spies who reunite to pull off the ultimate con job.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon kept himself busy during the writers strike by penning an Internet series called Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog. Three 10 minute episodes will follow “a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he’s too shy to talk to.” The cast includes Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser, M.D., currently How I Met Your Mother) as Dr. Horrible, Nathan Fillion (Firefly, currently Desperate Housewives) as superhero Captain Hammer, and Felicia Day (Buffy) as Penny.
Michelle Trachtenberg is joining the cast of CW’s Gossip Girl. The Buffy alum will be playing Georgina Sparks, a big troublemaker from Serena’s past that appears in the books on which the TV show is based.
