Attorney General Eric Holder recently invited three actors from HBO’s The Wire — Wendell Pierce, Sonja Sohn, and Jim True-Frost — to Washington. They were there to help announce a new anti-drug public relations campaign at the Justice Department.
While the actors were there, Holder lightheartedly plead for season six of the now-ended series. He said, “I want to speak directly to [co-creator Ed] Burns and Mr. [David] Simon: Do another season of The Wire… That’s actually at a minimum… If you don’t do a season, do a movie. They’ve done HBO movies, this is a series that deserves a movie. I want another season or I want a movie. I have a lot of power Mr. Burns and Mr. Simon.”
So, will The Wire creators take the not-so-subtle hint?
