2008 – 2009 Cancelled TV Shows: 10 CW Series That Won’t Be Back for 2009 – 2010

The CW was the last to announce their new schedule for the 2009 - 2010 season. The network targets the desirable young female demographic but has been having a hard time attracting many viewers at all -- at least when you compare them to the four major networks. For next season, they've renewed 90210, America's Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Smallville, and Supernatural. Over the Summer, they're unveiling two new series; reality show Hitched or Ditched debuted tonight and drama Blonde Charity Mafia will show up in July. Next season, you'll be able to see The Beautiful Life, Parental Discretion Advised, The Vampire Diaries, and a new version of Melrose Place. The shows you won't be seeing back next season include 4Real, 13: Fear Is Real, Easy Money, Everybody Hates Chris, The Game, In Harm's Way, Privileged, Reaper, Stylista, and Valentine. Here are the details...

Valentine

As their name suggests, the Valentine family wants everyone to be in love. Living in a mansion in Hollywood, California, they're determined to help soulmates connect. But this family isn't like any other group of matchmakers -- they're actually Greek gods who are posing as mortals.

CW Pulls MRC TV Shows: No More Valentine, Easy Money or In Harm’s Way… and Jericho Returns?

November 20, 2008
Little about the CW's arrangement with Media Rights Capital has been typical. That trend's continued right to the very end as the CW is booting In Harm's Way, Valentine, and Easy Money right off their schedule. For those who haven't watched the MRC shows, here's a brief description: In Harm's Way is a reality show hosted by Hunter Ellis that spotlights people with dangerous occupations. Valentine follows a group of Greek gods who help modern-day mortals find true love. It stars Christine Lakin, Autumn Reeser, Robert Baker, Kristoffer Polaha, Greg Ellis, Jaime Murray, and Patrick Fabian. Easy Money, tells the tale of a family of loan sharks. That one features the talents of Laurie Metcalf, Jeff Hephner, Jay R. Ferguson, Joe Peracchio, Katie Lowes, Nick Searcy, Kimberly Estrada, Marsha Thomason, Ravi Patel, Chris Browning, Jesus Mayorga, Gary Farmer, and Judge Reinhold. Last May, it was announced that MRC was going to rent CW's three hours of Sunday night airtime to run their own programming. Rather than pick up established programming (Moonlight was briefly considered), MRC chose to fill the timeslots with three original shows, In Harm's Way, Valentine, and Easy Money. The CW has historically had difficulty attracting viewers to its Sunday night schedule so few had faith that MRC would have better luck with three shows that had less promotion and exposure.
