Beauty and the Geek information

Two and a Half Men Ashton KutcherHave CBS and Warner Bros. just been punk’d? Actor and producer Ashton Kutcher has signed a deal to join the cast of Two and a Half Men. The news comes after months of speculation about who would replace Charlie Sheen on the most popular sitcom in primetime television.

Though the casting of Kutcher isn’t as bold a choice as Hugh Grant might have been, he does have impressive credentials. He has experience shooting a multi-camera sitcom since he spent seven seasons as a series regular on FOX’s That 70s Show, from 1998 to 2005. He’s got solid comedic timing and is familiar with the week-to-week schedule.

More about Beauty and the Geek

Beauty and the Geek

Beauty and the Geek

Ashton Kutcher created this reality show and produces along with Jason Goldberg and Nick Santora. It's billed as the "ultimate social experiment." The premise typically pairs up beautiful young women with geeky young guys and puts them through challenges designed to test their skills and knowledge. Mike Richards hosts the show, replacing Brian McFayden after the first season. He introduces the beauties to the geeks in the first episode in a variety of different ways, and they choose each other, either with beauties choosing geeks, or vice-versa. These are their partners throughout the rest of the show, sometimes even sharing a room together.

Beauty and the Geek: Plans Underway for New Season of Reality Show

October 31, 2008
Beauty and the GeekA couple weeks ago, we reported that it looked like the recently cancelled Beauty and the Geek show might be getting ready for a comeback. It looks like those plans are coming together pretty quickly. Beauty and the Geek began on the WB network in 2005 and moved to the CW when the WB folded. The reality show's last round didn't measure up to the network's expectations so it wasn't renewed for the 2008-09 season. At the time, it was suggested that the series could return after a suitable hiatus. Just six months later, Gary Newman, the co-chair of 20th Century Fox TV, said that there were efforts currently underway to find another network to air a new season of Beauty. A couple weeks later, it looks like plans to produce a new season of the show are underway. A casting notice has gone out for a new group of geek contestants. The last season of the show featured one female geek among the usual group of male geeks and it was suspected that producers might want to switch it up a bit more in the future.
