At this morning’s FX presentation at the TCA press tour, the cable channel announced that they are renewing It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for two more years — seasons eight and nine. This will make sitcom the longest-running in the history of basic cable. FX also has an option on season 10.
There’s no word yet on how many episodes have been ordered but the most recent seasons have been made up of 12-14 installments each. They also typically launch in September and finish in either late November or early December.
